The weahether is perfect today to think about Christmas: it rains, it's dark and maybe cold...

 

Anyway, my card is bright and cheerful!

This adorable penguin is from Meljen's Designs and papers are from Cartabella.

I decided to say "Happy New Year" for a change and I had fun adding gems and pearls.

Here's my card:

 

 

She is Windswept Diva from Meljen's Designs and, of course, I was inspired by Marilyn in The Seven Year Itch.

I colored her with Copics and positioned her on a card (I don't remember the brand, sorry) with this lovely embossed mirror.

She's so pretty!

Winter Wool!

 

Although I printed a sheep for my card, I ended up using this cute fox:

 

It's the new and adorable Little Autumn Fox from Meljen's Designs colored with Copics and matched with a paper from First Edition (Gilded Winter). I transformed the leaf into holly to make the image more Christmassy.

This week I had no doubt on what image I wanted to use: it's Penguin's Presents, a digi from Meljen's Designs I've had for a while waiting to be colored and assembled on a card.

The background paper is from a Lawn Fawn paper pad (Peace Joy Love) and the sentiment is from the same pad.

I chose Santa Baby Diva from Meljen's Designs, I colored her with Copics and added lots of glitter!

Papers are from Wild Rose Studio (Annabelle's Christmas) and Cartabella (Merry & Bright).

 

I love these cute Divas by Meljen's: although they are totally different from me, I find them adorable!

 

I didn't have time to check the DT cards this week so I look forward to the challenge going live to see them.

Paper Piecing.

Hello!

I've been inspired by Meljen's Designs Challenge for my today's card: they want to see Paper Piecing.

This is my card:

 I chose Little Apple Worm available in Meljen's Designs shop.

I paper pieced my image using digital papers:

I first printed one complete apple and one warm on white paper, then I chose digi papers from Pink Petticoat and put them under the parts of the digi I wanted to paper piece.

Then I cut these parts and colored the worm which I then glued with 3D dots in order to give additional dimension.

Then, I assembled the card using old papers from Three Bugs in a Rug and My Mind's Eye.

Easy peasy, right?

A Fun Challenge.

Cold and rainy weather is perfect to have a reason to stay at home and create cards!

On Thursday it rained the whole day, heavy rain... so grateful to my husband who collected our daughter from school and went to the haidresser! They both looked very handsome when they came back home and I didn't have to go out!

I needed some new baby cards for my shop and I had already printed two Baby Storks from Meljen's Designs so when I read the theme of this week's challenge at Meljen's Designs Challenge blog I decided to make the cards and see how long it took to make one.

Yes, the challenge is Time's Up! - Less than 30 minutes to create a card.

I already had the idea of the card in my mind so I only needed to cut card base, papers, color the digi and put things together to make this:

It took me 25 minutes to make one card, including some time to fasten the button to the ribbon with needle and thread, thing that I hate...

It took me a bit less to make the boy card (except for the needle and thread part...).

Anyway, the image was super fast to color with Copic markers. I then added papers from Pink Petticoat, pearls, rhinestones and a ribbon with bow and button.

Stickers on a Card!

I was clearing a basket full of undefined stuff when I found some lovely stickers my daughter gave me for Christmas.

I immediately remembered that this week's challenge at Meljen's Design it's all about Stickers!

It was the perfect reason to make a card, enter a challenge and use my stickers!

Aren't these lilac glittered hearts lovely?

I used Teeny Mouse Hugs from Meljen's Designs shop and patterned papers from TPC.

I added a heart sticker on the inside, too

I forgot to tell my daughter, hope she'll be happy to see that I've used them for one of my craft projects!

Starfish for Christmas?

A very quick post today to show you a last-minute Christmas tag I've just finished.

The inspiration came from Meljen's Design Challenge: Christmas Tags.

I checked my Meljen's Christmas digis and I couldn't find the right one for what I had in mind. I checked my other folders and... I found the perfect one in my summer digis: Starfish Buddies!

I cut it leaving the shells out and voilà a lovely couple of stars!

Pink & Black.

What do you think about Pink & Black together?

I LOVE it!

I've just finished a card (no, not a Christmas card...) with a black & pink scheme.

The inspiration came from Meljen's Designs Challenge: Black Out - Use black cardstock as your card base.

I've had the lovely Little Skunk digi from Meljen's Designs for a while and this was the perfect occasion to use it.

I made this card:

 I wanted the black cardstock to be visible and added some pink dots with acrylic paint. I used greys for the skunk so that the fur could be visible.

Elegant but Funny.

A while ago I discovered an image in Meljen's Designs shop I immediately fell in love with and I've finally been able to use it for a card and... it's NOT a Christmas card! I needed a break!

Her name is Little Lady Claire even if I always think about her as a funnier version of marie Antoniette!

I chose a palette of lilacs and light pinks with touches of glitter. I again wanted to use some of my paper roses to give a special touch to my card.

Oops!

When I saw this image at Meljen's Designs I felt it was perfect for me:

No, not that I feel like a witch but I sometimes feel like this witch, a bit in trouble...

This stamp is called Witchy Brew and I've finally managed to make a card with it.

I found some lovely old Halloween papers in my stash (no clue about the brand, sorry) and I followed the orange + purple + yellow theme with my Copics, buttons, rhinestones and ribbon.

No Embellishments??!

When I read the theme for this fortnight challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge I was pretty sure I wouldn't have entered.

No embellishments? How can I make a card without a little pearl, a shiny rhinestone or a lovely ribbon?

Then, while planning my future DT cards, I had a few ideas and this is the card:

I've used one of my treasured cards from Lasting Impressions with this lovely embossed border. Then, I've glued the image from Meljen's Designs colored with Copics in the middle of the card with a sweet sentiment.

Clean and simple, even without embellishments!

Yellow...again!

It seems yellow attracts me in this period... maybe I need a little more sun?

I've just finished this card:

I needed a few Father's Day cards for my shop and I made this one using simple pale yellow papers and a lovely digi stamp from Meljen's Designs: I resized one giraffe and rotate it so that son and dad could see each other. Being a card for men, I didn't want to use too many embellishments or glitter. I love its simplicity!

Mint Green for Christmas

If I take a look at all the Christmas cards I've made this year, most of them have non-traditional colors. Mostly pinks... pink and red, I love it!

Yesterday, I tried to change a bit and use some green. Not a dark, deep green but a light, fresh one!

And I made this:

Last year I made more traditional cards with this Cozy Winter Owl from Meljen's Designs but this year I wanted to go with something fresh and bright.

Copics, glitter and rhinestones and the card is done!

Elves for Christmas

Elves have been a passion of mine since back in the '90s when I discovered a painting book by Annie Lang: Elves from my Shelves. Since then, I've always loved having elves around for Christmas, in one form or another.

Earlier this year, I bought an elf image from Meljen's Designs called Santa's Little Helper.

I've just finished two cards with him:

For the first one I used brighter and more modern colors, the second is more traditional. Both elves have been colored with Copics and glitter.

As for patterned papers: the first one uses papers from the Christmas Joy Paper Pad by First Edition, the second uses paper from DCWV Christmas Papers.

The face of this little elf makes me smile every time I look at it!

Christmas Critters

Christmas is coming... Shops are putting on the festive dress, filling their shelves with Christmas goodies.

A bit "late" this year, maybe because it was warm until last week and Christmas seemed far away? Or maybe because that mid-October was too early in any case...

Being a crafter and making Christmas cards for most of the year, I'm always happy when I see something festive around: I love to see new trends, to have some inspiration and to be completely in the right mood for holiday creations.

But, the other "me" refuses to buy ornaments and home decorations so early. The most horrible thing is that, when it's almost Christmas, most big shops have already taken away Christmas items.

Well, let's go back to cards.

Today I'm happy to show a card I've just finished with a lovely stamp from Meljen's Designs called Ice Skating Mouse:

This picture is a bit dark, I'm sorry. The Easel card is white and the panel below is a light blue-green glittered paper.

I colored the mouse with Copics and glitter and added rhinestones, glittered snowflakes and dots of pink paint. Isn't she cute?

Cards for Boys - Part 2

Here I am with my second Card for a Boy:

This time I've used a very sweet image from Meljen's Designs, colored with Copics and mounted on DCWV paper and card. The flower border is a gift from a magazine and I added two buttons and two little pearls.

Owls...

When I discovered Etsy a few years ago I discovered owls too.

I have friends who collect them but I've never taken too much care. But on Etsy... well... I've discovered such funny, tender, whimsical, cute owls that I'm starting to love them!

Even if I keep myself from starting a new collection of "physical" owls, I realize that I'm collecting digis with them as theme.

With one of my latest buy I created this card:

It was a pleasure to color and to embellish with glitter and I wanted to achieve a "night look" in the card, so I used very dark blue colors.

The image is Little Wizard Owl from Meljen's Designs, while the paper is again an old scrap and I don't remember the name of the Company.

I used Copics to color it and some glittery paper from DCWV.
