C.R.A.F.T. Challenges # 335 - Not Square or Rectangle.

Good morning and welcome to an exciting new C.R.A.F.T. Challenge!

 

This week we don't want to see square or rectangle cards but shaped ones!

 

I opted for a round card and this is what I made:

 

 

The card blank is from Papermania covered with a Bella Boulevard paper.

The digi stamps are from Melonheadz (from the Sara's Reach for the Stars collection) and are colored with Copics.

I really like how my card turned out, perfect for a little girl full of dreams!

This week I made some new baby decorations:

 

 

I chose Patchwork Moon from QKR, colored with Copics and mounted on a chipboard plaque covered with a dotted paper (DCWV) or a striped pink paper (printed from Pink Petticoat).

A satin ribbon to hang them, a bow and some rhinestones to decorate them and voilà a perfect decoration for a new baby's room!

I Love This Card!

Today I'm happy to show you one of my favourite cards for this year:

 

 

I made it a while ago using Paddling in the Canoe, a super cute stamp by Eat Cake Graphics.

This time I imagined a boy paddling at night under a starry sky and a big moon.

 

I regret I have only a few scraps left of the starry paper so I don't think I can duplicate thi card... I'll probably keep it for myself for a little while...

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge # 267 - Inspired by a Book.

This week the theme at our C.R.A.F.T Challenge is quite interesting: make a card or craft inspired by a book.

 

I myself had to think a while before having a good idea and, while looking at available images, I decided to be inspired by a series of books on cats adventures by Doreen Tovey.

 

This is my card:

 

 

I chose this funny cat from QKR: it is called "Hanging" and is available both as digi stamp and in rubber.

I mounted it on a paper by DCWV and punched some star from yellow stickers.

 

I think it's too cute!

Wishes...

Have you ever wished upon a star?

I have.

And sometimes my wish has come true... even when it was not a perfect wish and it would have been better not to wish...

Anyway, for this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges we have to use background stamps and I wished I had more... well, I wished I had at least one.

In fact, it seems that among my tons of stamps there's not a background stamp so I had to create one.

I made this card:

The tiny star stamp is from a set by The Alley Way Stamps while the sweet mouse is from PennyBlack. I stamped the stars with white ink on a metallic card I found in my stash and simply added the mouse stamp colored with Copics.

Why Always at the Last Second?

When I was given this image as participant in last week Challenge at Hambo Hoedown I was really Over The Moon for I immediately had an idea on how to use it!

But...

Challenge closes in a few hours and I'm still here, writing my post.

Well, here's my card:

I love this moon and I decided to paint it lilac and light purple with my watercolor pencils. If you like this image, you can find it here.

Maybe the color of the shuttle is not a perfect match, but I bought them fron the UK last year (I don't have a cutting machine) and this green was the best match among the three available.

Of course, this card will be entered in Hambo Hoedown Challenge # 17 "I'm Over the Moon".

Accidents...

Stupid accidents are sometimes very helpful!

The other day I was reaching for my ribbon box which is tucked away on a high shelf behind a couple of small containers full of drawers.

As usual, I was carefully removing the first container when four drawers fell down: thousands of tiny, medium and large colored star sequins got out of them towards me and down on the floor.

It was not the first time, hence my being extremely careful while moving it but maybe I was not careful enough and all of a sudden I found myself covered with colorful stars.

Luckily enough my daughter still has fun helping mom when she does these "disasters" so she helped a lot. All the stars were collected in a temporary plastic container before going each in its drawer (I'm considering to put them all in one drawer...).

Yesterday I was finishing a card with a Moon theme and I was using a paper full of stars behind my digi. I was thinking about putting some star rhinestones on this paper to embellish it when I realized I could use the fallen stars. They were there, on my table, easy to reach and perfect for my card! I'm sure I would have never thought about using them if they hadn't fallen on the floor...

Here's my card:

The digi stamp is from Pollycraft and it's colored with watercolor pencils and glitter for the wings. The star paper is a VERY VERY old paper from Sizzix and then, my little stars.

This card is meant for a dear friend and for a challenge: Pollycraft Challenge # 83. The theme is "Fly Me to the Moon" and I really wish I could fly my friend to the moon in such a delicate period of her life.
