C.R.A.F.T. Challenge # 264 - Recipe

Welcome to a new C.R.A.F.T. Challenge!

Here's my card:

 

 

I added 1 ribbon, bought at a local shop, 2 rhinestones as embellishments and the image is You Make My Heart Soar digi stamp from Pickled Potpourri (they are sposoring us this week!).

 

As for the papers, the one with the Rainbow is Sweet Summer Patts No2 from Misstiina (available at SugarHill Co.) while the other is from Echo Park (Country Drive paper pad). For the small flags, I made them with a dotted paper I had in my stash.

 

I love this little frog flying away with those ballons!

It's Anything Goes this week at Christmas Card Challenges!

Even if spring is the season I'm less inspired to create Christmas Card, this week it was super-easy to make one (with a bit of spring in it...).

This is my card:

I've finally been able to use a stamp I bought a long ago from Inky Antics. I colored it with Copics and mounted it on a dotted paper decorated with ribbons and rhinestones.

I love the way this little frog looks at me!

Frogs.

I didn't know to have a passion for frogs until I discovered stamps... I found so many little cute frogs and I had to have some of them...

Some of my favourite frogs come from Doodle Dragon Studios, like this one:

I already used it in other cards but I'm never tired to see it!

Easy to color, perfect for a girl or a boy, a happy face which brightens every day!

This card was quick and easy to make: I printed the papers from Pink Petticoat chosing soft pastel spring colors, then I simply added a border, pearls, a sentiment and some butterflies.

Spring Fun!

Sun, rain, wind, wind, wind... that's Spring!

We are having a quite wet and windy spring but once sun comes out it's so warm and perfect!

With spring in mind I created this card:

I had the idea for this card as soon as I saw the digi in Doodle Dragon Studios shop: a happy frog and lots of butterflies!

When I saw the theme of this week challenge at Pike's Playground - Outdoor Activities - I realized it was time to make it and it turned out as I had in mind: bright, playful and... happy!

Cards for Emily - Part 2

Here's my card for "A Card for Emily" project promoted by Dustin Pike:

Instead of using a Daisy and Buttercup image, I chose a frog image I had just bought from Doodle Dragon Studios: it's in the March 2011 collection and I love it!

I still have to write my message for Emily, it's difficult to write something after the wonderful words my daughter used in her card!

Masculine colors.

I'm busy with a custom order, preparing decorations for a little girl's birthday and surrounded by pinks, pastel colors, glitter and by everything girly.

But...

...this week I WANTED to enter a card in Dustin Pike Challenge so I put girly things aside (I'm waiting for a new punch I've just ordered to make my decorations) and finish my new card:

I chose masculine colors: I started painting the digi and then looked through my stash of papers and found this set which I thought it was perfect for the look I had in mind.

This month Dustin Pike celebrates his blogiversary so the theme is birthday. I added a gift in the bear's hands with a little bow which maybe is not too visible in the picture. The look in the frog's eyes is just perfect: as a child in front of his presents!

I love Dustin Pike's images and I'm so sorry I've probably lost some retired images... I love his frogs and monkeys!

Well, fingers crossed new images will be posted so I can play with them!

It Makes Me Laugh...

Sometimes I fall in love with an image: I like it so much I think about framing it so I can have a look at it every time I want.

The image I've used for my latest card was one of these.

I bought an entire set of images (it was not a great effort, they were all cute!) just because of it!

Here's the card:

Isn't this frog cute? I love it!

The digi is from Doodle Dragon Studios and I colored it with watercolor pencils and embellished both the frog and the princess with some glitter. I added rhinestones to the crown: she is a princess after all!

The paper... well, as usual it is from one of the bargains I find on the internet and I don't know the company name but as soon as I saw it in my stash I knew it was perfect for this card.

Well, this incredible hot April means I need to change not only dresses but bedlinens and duvets, pajamas and everything else and it's such a boring thing to do...

A Quiet Saturday Morning.

Everybody still sleeping, I can spend a few more minutes on the computer and post a new card for my favorite Challenge, Sweet Sketch Wednesday

After making the Top Three (yes, I know, I keep repeating that but I'm still sooo happy!!!) last week I had to make a card for this week's Challenge. Moreover, the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps so I really couldn't miss it!

As usual, there is a Sketch to follow:

Patterned papers are a real treasure for me: they are difficult to find in my town so I usually have to order them and quite expensive so this time I decided to paint my background paper. I made a frame with some paper strips and make paint dots around them. I don't know if this solution seems a patterned paper but I like it.

I even used one precious button for the sun: I have a passion for buttons and I have problems in using my favorite ones... but I'll talk about this another time.

I really loved to think about summer and warm weather, I'm one of those girls who could go to sleep on January 6 and wake up in April. I hate the dark cold winter days. I resist until Christmas - I love Christmas - but after that, nothing.

While painting this little frog, I dreamed about summer holidays, long wam sunny days, some sun tan on my too pale face, no jackets, socks, boots, scarves, hats... Have you ever counted how many things you have to wear in winter?

The only pro is: more time for crafting and I'm really trying to spend every spare minute making new cards while dreaming about summer...

Dreaming of Summer...

Last night while I was having my last look at my favorite blogs and shops I noticed another Challenge at Bugaboo Stamps: ANYTHING GOES.

When it was time to go to bed I decided to prepare a card for the Challenge and so I worked late at night to finish it.

The stamp was already colored so I just had to add the final touches and mount it on a card which, as you know, it's the most difficult part of the job! Here's the result:

If photographs are not too good if taken when there's not sunlight, those taken at midnight are even worst (or maybe I do need some training).

Anyway, I used a DCWV paper mounted on a simple white card while the stamp was colored with watercolor pencils as well as the fish. Air bubbles are made from punched cardstock and I glued the fish with 3D dots for a dimensional effect.

I find it fresh and simple, a breath of fresh air after so many days passed into the Christmas atmosphere.

Well, better link the photo to the Challenge which is closing in a few hours. I'm sipping my coffee and having a look at my favorite shops and blog around the world... the magic of the internet!
