It's Sketch Time at Christmas Card Challenges!

This week we have to follow a sketch at Christmas Card Challenges:
Clean and simple, isn't it?

I decided it was perfect for an image I've wanted for a while in Karen's Doodles shop: Bigsby's Christmas Wish and I made this card:

The paper behind the image is from the Make It Merry paper pad from October Afternoon and the gold glittered cardstock is from DCWV.
What I enjoyed most while making this card was coloring the image which I find so sweet and with a touch of poetry!

Can't wait to see what my fellow DT memebrs have made with this sketch!
Their cards are all here:

Elegant but Funny.

A while ago I discovered an image in Meljen's Designs shop I immediately fell in love with and I've finally been able to use it for a card and... it's NOT a Christmas card! I needed a break!

Her name is Little Lady Claire even if I always think about her as a funnier version of marie Antoniette!

I chose a palette of lilacs and light pinks with touches of glitter. I again wanted to use some of my paper roses to give a special touch to my card.

This card is for the following challenges:

Pop It Up!

It's time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week the theme is Dimension.

I love to add dimension to my cards, usually using 3D dots and this time I've used dots in various thickness to make my elves pop up in different ways,

This is my card:
I've used just one digi (a cute Christmas Elf by Jellypark): I printed it in different sizes and colored the elves using the same palette of classic Christmas colors and, of course, touches of glitter here and there. And I couldn't help but adding lots of rhinestones to make the card sparkle!

Let's have a look at what the other DT have created this week:

Bows.

This week I've had a great fun making my card for Christmas Card Challenges.
The theme is "Bows" and I decided to use Piper from By Lori Designs. My first idea was to put her over a ribbon with a big bow making a simple card but then I realized that she had a present with her and decided to stamp lots of presents in different sizes which meant... lots of bows!

Here's my card:

I kep the big bow and the simple layout I had in mind by using only one patterned paper as background.
I wish I had all those gifts under my Christmas tree!

Don't forget to have a look at the wonderful bows my fellow DT have used for their cards:

Relax!

A very quick post today: I want to show you a card I've just finished and... it's not a Christmas card!

I love making cards for Christmas but I'm working on them since January and I'm starting to be a bit tired...

Thus, I decided to make something with a new stamp from Broken Box Stock and made this card:

She is Bubble Bath Toodle (available here as black & white digi stamp and here in a very sweet colored version).
I chose the digi stamp but colored it with the same sweet colors as in the colored version.
Papers are from the Floral Pavillion paper pad by First Edition.

Ohh... I wish I had a bath tub to be like her!

This card is for the following challenges:

Paper Roses.

Ever since I discovered them on a card some years ago, I fell in love with tiny paper roses.
I bought some but I rarely use them. I never reach for them to give a special touch to my cards and projects and I need to be inspired by something to use them.

This week I was inspired by Christmas Card Challenge # 47: the theme is FLOWERS so I had to reach for my paper roses and use them!

She is Wryn Goes Caroling, one of my favorite stamps from Tiddly Inks. I used lilacs to make my card, adding purple and pink roses on one corner (sorry, but the paper is again an old one with no name on it!).
I love how it turned out, I should really rememeber to use my roses more often!

As usual, have a look at the stunning creations of my fellow DT members:

Tags.

I sometimes put my cards aside to make tags.
I love to make them, to prepare the piles of things I need to assemble my tags and I love to work in a sort of "mass production".
A few days ago I made these ones:

I first chose the image: I wanted to use the little mouse on the right and then I decided I needed to pair her with another image to make a set. They were both free from Dearie Dolls a while ago. I used a textured pink cardstock for the tag (I also made a blue version), a paper doily ribbon and a paper green stripe. Some snow dots made with paint and lots of glitter give the final touch.

Simple and oh... so cute!

Pink, Brown & White at Christmas Card Challenges.

Although I like unusual color combos for my Christmas cards, I wasn't too happy when I read I had to use Pink, Brown and White to make my DT card for this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.
The only thing I managed to think about was a dog or a bear stamp I could paint brown... yes, not very original.

I ended up with two digis painted brown with pink and white accents and I asked my daughter to choose the best one for a Christmas card:

This digi is again from the CIJ 2013 set from Doodle Dragon Studios, a real mine for Christmas images with cute animals!
A kraft card and some light brown, pink and white details here and there and the card was done.
I actually love this color combo!
I didn't add too many embellishments because I wanted to make a card suitable for boys too. Do you think that the pink accents are too many for a male card?

Have a look at my fellow DT cards, you'll certainly get plenty of inspiration!

It's Time for an Inspirational Photo Challenge at Christmas Card Challenges!

This week I've had a great fun making my DT card for Christmas Card Challenges because the theme fitted one of my new stamps from Doodle Dragon Studios perfectly.
This image was probably the reason why I bought the Christmas in July 2013 set! Here's my card:

(I'm sorry but I don't manage to upload the inspiration photo from our Yahoo group, I've had so many issues since they renovated the site that everytime I need to work with it it's a nightmare!).

This snail is soooo cute with her home decorated for Christmas! She's definitely getting ready for Christmas!Patterned paper is from the Merry & Bright Collection from Cartabella, while the dotted paper is from Pink Petticoat.

Due to my problems with the Yahoo Group, I've had but a few sneak peaks of my teammates cards this week, so we all must have a look at their creations:

Halloween Princess.

Maybe it's a bit late to make cards for Halloween but I've had an image for almost one year and I wanted to use it!

This is my card:
And this cute girl disguised as a princess is Trick or Treat Princess Toodle from Broken Box Stock (as most of their digis it is available here as a black & white digi stamp and here in a very romantic colored version).

I've used some papers scraps I've had for ages (I'm sorry, no brand was written in my scraps) and some tiny Halloween-themed decorations on a black card base.

This card is for the following challenges:
