Challenge # 18 at Broken Box Stock: Make a Get Well Soon Card!

Another great Challenge at Broken Box Stock!

The theme is Get Well Soon and I made this card:

I couldn't resist to this lovely Toodle in her couch! Too cute!

(You can find Get Well Toodle here as a digi stamp and here in a colored version).

To make the card, I trimmed the front panel of the card with a lovely punch, glued a very old yellow striped paper in the upper part of the card (does it seem wallpaper?), a satin ribbon and finally my poor Toodle colored with Copics.

I must admit... I sometimes wish to catch a little flu just to lay down on the couch like she's doing...

My First Christmas Cards for 2013

Believe it or not, I've just finished a couple of Christmas cards!

I sadly missed a DT call at ABC Christmas Challenge but I'd like to follow each one of their Challenges this year and make a card for every letter!!

The first is A for Animals and I've made not one but TWO cards with animals:

I must admit... I forgot I had bought these lovely images from Pink Petticoat a long time ago and when I rediscovered them, I had to use them immediately!

The papers are also from Pink Petticoat and the doneky and sheep are colored with Copics and glitter and mounted on a white card with a delicate ribbon, a felt snowflakes and... sigh!...two buttons (it's always so difficult to part with my buttons!).

I've made two cards because I liked both images and I couldn't choose only one but they've turned out so pretty that I'm thinking about making a card with every animal of the set!

Something Pretty

In order to beat the blues these dark days, I needed something pretty!

And I made this pretty notebook:



I love to make notebooks and I love this pretty girl from Broken Box Stock: I've used this digi stamp hundreds of times! She is so pretty, sassy and HAPPY!

That's the main reason I've decided to use her on the notebook: she makes me happy!

Copics, glitter and an old dotted paper... I love it!

My husband being cooking the lunch (it's great he loves to cook, isn't it??), I have some more time to enter my new notebook in a few challenges!

A New Digi Stamp

While waiting for some pre-Christmas purchases from the U.S. with new stamps and papers, I've decided to create a Valentine card with a digi stamp I bought back in December:


These lovely giraffes are from Karen's Doodles and they inspired me to use pastel colors with a paper from DCWV and some organza ribbon and bows.
They are so sweet!

Since I've a few more minutes before my family wakes up, I have time to enter the card into the following challenges:

A Fresh New Start

I really miss our Christmas tree, the lights and decorations and I'm fighting against lazyness and dark days... I don't love this time of the year! Yesterday I decided I had to react and created a new card with light colors and a definitely summery theme:

This is one of my favorite stamps from Sparkle Creations: she is called Swimming Lucy and I'm really envious she can relax under the sun while I have to stay here in these dark cold town!

Anyway, after coloring her with Copics, I chose an old paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug called Lazy Summer (perfect, isn't it?) and assembled this card which is so clean and fresh!

I wanted to make this card to enter the challenges over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge # 95 where the theme is "Anything Goes" and at Divas by Design where again "Anything Goes".

Although here in Italy we are still in a Christmas atmosphere with trees, lights and decorations still on until Sunday, my mind is already moving to my next important event to make cards for: Valentine!

This is a card I've recently made:

I've used this lovely and sweet crocodile from Doodle Dragon Studios and made a pink & red card which is perfect for Valentine Day with a patterned paper from Doodlebug. I layered the image with red cardstock and the pink ribbon with a larger red one.

I love red & pink together!

It's a Winter Challenge at Broken Box Stock

It's time for another challenge at Broken Box Stock: Winter / Snowflakes!

I've recently made a card for this challenge and, according to me, it shows the beauty of digi stamps.
This is the card:

I used just one digi stamp, Lydia Caroling and simply resized it, flipped it and colored it in different shades and they seems three different little girls (or maybe sisters).
I used foam pads to attach them in order to obtain different levels and used a card I found in a magazine some years ago.

I love its semplicity and the fact that, with just one image, I could create a chorus!

Merry Christmas!

Well, we're here at last!

Tomorrow it's Christmas!

For a card maker like me it's more than the most important holiday in the whole year, it's a sort of finishing line.

Cards are made, Customers are served, gifts have been bought (I still need to buy one or two...), family is preparing dinner, the house still needs to be cleaned and everything is fine.

And... In a week or two, I should be ready to start again!

I've been making cards for Christmas for most of the year, thinking about the particular atmosphere of December and of this precious holiday!

My favorite time of the year is quickly passing by and this makes me a bit sad as usual: I've always enjoyed the preparations of a party than the party itself and for Christmas it's more or less the same.

Vintage Christmas

This should be my last Christmas card for this year.

Apart from my DT work, I've decided to stop making Christmas cards, put away some stamps I didn't manage to use and take some time for family, house cleaning and daily chores before Christmas.

When I saw this Stampavie stamp I decided it would have been a perfect addition to my collection. And when I inked it, I decided to keep its Victorian atmosphere using soft traditional colors.

Anyway, this is my card:

I've found a very old ivory paper with snowflakes (I'm sorry I don't even remember where I bought it) and added a few touches: a grey cardstock panel and stripe behind the image, a glittered snowflake and a touch of glitter on the snow.

I love its atmosphere which reminds me of Christmas past, Dicken's novels and London in the late 1800s.

Well, being my last Christmas card I suppose these will be the last Challenges I'm entering for this year:

An Unusual Color Combo

I'm definitely behind schedule with my Christmas cards but I want to use all the stamps I bought earlier this year... well, maybe not every single one...

Today, I'm showing you a card I've made with a stamp from Penny Black that I fell in love with some time ago and finally managed to buy.

Aren't they lovely?

It seems that another favorite of mine for Christmas are critters, and this cute trio is so sweet I couldn't miss it!

For a change from pinks and traditional Christmas colors, this time I've tried with an unusual color combo: kraft and glitter.

If I were asked before this card, I would have answered that no, no, it doesn't work! But I've tried and I'm quite surprised with the result.

I think that these kraft colors are perfect for the critters and that a touch of glitter and sparkle is perfect for Christmas!
